52in52: Catch up 2

Another great movie by Satoshi Kon. I love that each character had depth. The trans character wasn’t just trans, they had history and feelings. I remember them for their past more than for the fact they were trans. Every character felt that way. Great movie 5/5.

The Green Room was a crazy film to watch. It wasn’t scary but thrilling. Some parts can get quite gorey so be warned. Great watch still 4/5.

Only Yesterday is a Studio Ghibli movie that follows an office worker who works at farm for the summer. She relives experiences she had from her childhood and process through her memories. I enjoyed it but it didn’t hit as well as the other Ghibli movies I’ve seen, 3/5.

Oh boy this is one of the best movies I’ve ever seen and I also never want to see it again. It follows 4 drug users as they spiral deeper into their addictions. Greatest anti drug propoganda I’ve ever seen. It’s a 5/5 but I will only watch this again if I’m showing someone else for the first time.

A movie about revolution! It was a fun watch with a great message about standing up against corruption 4/5.

Great animated movie. Dives into passion and drive and it was beautifully animated too. 4/5

Another Satoshikon, Inception except this one came out before Inception. It didn’t hook me as hard as Perfect Blue but was still a fun watch. 3/5.

Truely a fun watch! All the characters were so enjoyable and the story was cute and the gags made me laugh out loud. It’s worth a rewatch to see the details missed on the first pass, 4/5.

The next movie will be Nightcrawler!! I’m still 2 movies behind to get back on track but I’ll get back to one a week soon.
